Experience the winter tranquillity of the Weisstannen Valley on a guided adventure hike (in German) – far from the crowds and surrounded by untouched nature. Accompanied by a local, certified guide from Bergträume GmbH, you’ll trace your path through deep, snow-covered forests and open alpine meadows. Along the way, you’ll learn intriguing facts about the valley’s nature, wildlife and history. With a bit of luck, you might spot deer, foxes or dippers. The route leads past rushing mountain streams and old alpine farms, offering breathtaking views of the Foostock – part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tectonic Arena Sardona.
During the tour, you’ll discover the historic mountain village of Weisstannen, situated over 1,000 metres above sea level. Here, time seems to stand still: weathered wooden houses, traditional craft objects and a living alpine culture shape the village’s charm. To conclude the day, enjoy a well-deserved rest in a stylish, centuries-old inn with an ambience that evokes the Belle Époque and Biedermeier eras.

Note: We recommend travelling by public transport, as the start and end points of the tour are different.

More information

Notes

  • Minimum shoe size: EU 35 (due to the snowshoes)
  • Equipment: winter-appropriate clothing and sturdy, high-ankle footwear, plus sun protection and something to drink; optionally a small snack for the way. Bring a daypack to carry/attach the snowshoes if needed.
  • If you are bringing your own snowshoes and poles, please let us know in advance
  • Easy, mostly flat walk with minimal elevation gain; suitable with basic fitness and sure-footedness
  • If there is insufficient snow, the tour will take place as a winter walk

  • Bookable from 14 December 2025 to 28 February 2026, on selected dates
  • Minimum number of participants 6 (final decision on the day before 10.00)

Cancellation policy

If cancelled or modified up to 5 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled or modified up to 2 days before date of arrival, 50% of the total price of the reservation will be charged. If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Payment policy

The total payment of the reservation is required at the time of booking.
