But what the high-altitude hike to the Garmil offers is by no means little: you are provided with a picnic backpack filled with regional specialities at the valley station of the Pizol cable cars. Then you take the cable car and a chairlift to the Gaffia mountain station. The hike can now begin. Along your route you will find information boards explaining the UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona Site that surrounds you. The crowning glory of the hike is the summit cross, where you have a magnificent view over Sarganserland. Find a cosy spot for your picnic or make yourself comfortable on the benches next to the summit cross. From a cutting board to a picnic blanket: you'll find everything you need in your rucksack.
