Join an experienced Swiss Ranger on a wildlife observation tour through the UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona. On this tour you will have the opportunity to observe bearded vultures and golden eagles in their natural habitat and receive exciting information.

A Swiss Ranger takes you on a half-day excursion to the UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona. In the Calfeisen valley you enter the realm of the birds of prey. While we hike through the idyllic mountain landscape, our Swiss Ranger will give you interesting information about the way of life and the role of bearded vultures and golden eagles in Alpine ecology. You will learn to locate the birds of prey and, with a bit of luck, you can observe them while the Swiss Ranger explains their characteristics and behaviour. You may also spot other wildlife such as ibex and deer.

Notes

  • The tour takes place in any weather condition unless the Swiss Ranger cancels the tour due to safety reasons
  • Difficulty: medium (220 metres altitude difference / approx. 1,6 km per way)
  • Good, firm shoes
  • Binoculars are recommended
  • Snacks and drinking water (bring your own)
  • It is possible to eat at the Restaurant Sankt Martin before or after the tour

  • Bookable from May to September on selected dates
  • Minimum number of participants 4 (final decision on the day before 12.00)

  • Individual group tours up to max. 40 people possible on request (Up to 20 people CHF 400.00 for the whole group, 21-40 people CHF 700.00 for the whole group)
