On the trail of the bearded vulture

Description

A Swiss Ranger takes you on a half-day excursion in the UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona. In the Calfeisen valley you will enter the realm of the bearded vulture. With the help of the Swiss Ranger, you will learn how to locate the bearded vulture. During the tour, you will learn how the largest bird in the Alps masters its life and have the chance to watch it flying in the sky.

Meeting point

Walser Village Sankt Martin in Calfeisental, Vättis (parking available).
- One-way traffic from the dam: it is only possible to drive into the village every full hour until twenty minutes past

Tour details

  • Minimum number of participants 1 (final decision on the day before 16.00)
  • Bookable up to 3.5 hours before the tour (if it has not been cancelled the previous day)
  • The tour takes place in any weather condition unless the Swiss Ranger cancels the tour due to safety reasons
  • There will be about 220 meters of altitude and 1.6 km each way

Equipment / Food

  • Good, firm shoes
  • Binoculars are recommended
  • Snacks and drinking water (bring your own)
  • It is possible to eat at the Restaurant Sankt Martin before or after the tour

Cancellation policy

If cancelled or modified up to 16:00 on the eve of the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, 100% of the price of the reservation will be charged.

Payment policy

The total payment of the reservation is required at the time of booking.
